Poll: What’s the Key to the Manufacturing Comeback?
This morning I discovered a post about the fact that reshoring isn’t going as well as we’d think. While I appreciated the solid statistics, timely citations, and overall clarity of the article; I couldn’t help but feel a little lost after that.
“What do I make of this?” I thought. “If the numbers are down on both sides, doesn’t that still mean it’s not over? What can we DO with this information?”
Those and other thoughts led me to this: what does everyone else think about the manufacturing recovery? We know the people want it, whether its for employment in US factories, feeling like they’re helping the economy by buying American, or whatever. But how do we give them what they *want* but feel is unattainable or otherwise hard to find?
So please, all my dear readers, riddle me this:
What do you think is the key ingredient in boosting US manufacturing?
Please answer the poll below, and please feel free to leave a comment about why you chose your answer or how we can make that a reality. The poll will be open for three weeks through 9/15/10 so, please, tell your friends…
Also, thanks to @MFGcom for a comment on Government aid which prompted me to split that choice into two (financial aid vs. policy reform). While writing this post I also discovered they had written a pretty clear response to the very same post I mentioned at the beginning of this article.
Talk about timely 🙂
